AUSTRALIAN PELICAN (Pelicans conspicillatus)

From the archives….

Haven’t been doing much photography in the last week, but we’ve had a couple of great sunny days for walking and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the invigorating fresh cool winds.  Rain forecast for the coming week and weekend, so it’s back to the archives for some images to share.

  1. Are the bird’s feet as blue as they appear in that last photo? What a nice, fun touch! And the set as a whole is very nice. The photos have an Audubon-like feel.

    • The Pelican’s feet are more a bluish-grey Linda. Depends on the light and time of day I’ve made the image. The top image I was sitting on a rock (very still 🙂 ) about 4 feet from the bird. It was a rather magical experience to be sitting so close to such a huge bird.

    • Thanks Cindy.
(I’ve been thinking of you and looking for some more good bird shots to share from my archives).
