RIBWORT or RIBGRASS (Plantago lanceolata L.)

As I go through my archives reducing the folders and number of images over this past 2 summers, I’m constantly amazed at how many images of grass varieties I’ve made.

I think they’re far more interesting than flowers.

    1. I was just reading that this grass, native to Europe and Asia, followed the progress of European colonisation so promptly that the American Indians called it ‘white man’s foot-print.’
      Maybe that’s how it got to be such a weed in Australia – European colonisation in the 1790s and early 1800s..
